There’s A Tuesday (NZ)

Highschool besties – frontwomen Minnie Robberds and Nat Hutton, drummer Gus Murray and bassist Joel Becker – have graduated from jamming in their living rooms to thrashing at renowned local festivals and stadiums. There’s A Tuesday have created a haven for tender listeners, marrying their fervent lyricism with their idyllic indie pop sound.

The band’s debut EP, ‘Dance With Me Before We Cry’ established their stake in the local music scene. Its tuneful testimonies of the human experience welcomed considerable attention from music enthusiasts and industry veterans alike. Since then, the band has received an influx of prestigious nominations and awards from musical legacies such as Rolling Stone, Recorded Music New Zealand (Aotearoa Music Awards) and Australasian Performing Rights Association (Silver ScrollAwards) where they were part of the top 5.

There’s A Tuesday has continued to enchant their expanding audience, being included on festival lineups of Laneway, Rhythm and Vines, Rhythm and Alps and beyond. During their Rhythm and Alps performance in 2020, the band captured the heart of international alt-pop sweetheart BENEE, who personally recruited the band for her growing label, Olive Records.

The band has since released and toured their sophomore project, Boy Scout – featuring Girl At Night. The EP honoured their signature sound, embracing fans in their melodic solace. The band’s impressive trajectory has also warranted opening slots locally and internationally, performing for international powerhouses Conan Gray, BENEE, Spacey Jane, The Beths and more.

Their new single ‘Familiar’ is out now. Nat describes the song as a familiar account: “meeting someone for the first time but feeling like you’ve known them before.” With its release, fans can anticipate another emotional earworm, adding to the soundtrack of their lives.
